Official rules from the Fédération Aéronautique International

My intention is to stay as close as possible to the real international rules for aerobatic competition. Naturally, we have to make some compromises, but in general we stick very close to the real-life rules. The current official versions of the rules you can find at the FAI home page. Please download the following documents from this page. It is not essential to understand everything but it would be good to read through it at least once.

Since everything is covered in these rules, keep in mind what you will need as a pilot to compete in a virtual competition. For example you do not need to read the sections about how the score gets calculated or where it describes how a figure gets its k-factor.

The rules needed:

- Aresti-Catalog
(http://www.fai.org/aerobatics/aresti_system)
- Aresti-Catalog Update 2007 (GIF)
- Aresti-Catalog Update 2006 (ZIP(PDF))
- Aresti-Catalog 2005 (old)

Concerning the Aresti Catalog: Since the Catalog will not be downloadable in the future (the Aresti family claims the rights) and only available in hard copy for purchase, I am providing examples of Free-Programs you can choose from. You do not need to buy the catalog.
